Hi! I’m Laura.

I work as a Career Counsellor on the unceded Country of the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people.

Let’s figure out how to make your career work for you.

What do I offer?

I’m passionate about helping people lead a values-driven, balanced life. I see your career as one aspect of your story, and I offer personalised career counselling sessions to help you craft a career that is sustainable and useful for both you and the world.

I’m strongly influenced by the Indigenous wellbeing model of Social and Emotional Wellbeing - I strive to help my clients regain equilibrium and a sense of place; to balance the ‘there’ and the ‘here’, as articulated in this article.

I am proudly neurodiversity-affirming, and can customise my process to suit your communication needs. I work with reduced rates for First Nations clients, low-income clients, and disabled clients.

I also offer:

  • CV, KSC and cover letter editing

  • LinkedIn editing

  • Morrisby Profiling for aptitudes and skills auditing - for those embarking on big career or industry shifts - and

  • presentations and workshops on career development for organisations.

What’s my experience?

Work

My work has always focused on people and their stories.

I work as an independent Professional Careers Counsellor, and I am also the Pathways Counsellor at a public high school in Melbourne’s inner north, alongside 1200+ young people and their families.

I love presenting about career development ideas and facilitating workshops, and in 2025 facilitated a workshop with Laneway Learning.

Some of my previous work has included: working as a Human Resources Manager, a Communications Consultant and Editor, and for 6 years I was a Founding Director of Grit Theatre.

Qualifications

I hold a Graduate Certificate in Career Education and Development from RMIT, and a Diploma of Counselling Skills (PACFA Affiliated) from ACAP.

I’m also trained in Mental Health First Aid, and have completed the Introduction to Therapeutic Life Story Work by Berry Street and the Aboriginal Narrative Practice Course by The Dulwich Centre.
